Our Itinerary

Our itinerary will be constantly changing, and we will try to keep this page updated so that people know where we are, even when we aren't posting!  Some of the places below are more general, while for some we have more specific plans. Our goal is to plan about a month out when possible, but leaving room to change our minds whenever possible.
For those who want a visual, click on Our (Approximate) Route for a moveable map.

  1. Hello Sena family! I feel like I know you and would love hanging out with you from reading your amazing blog! My children go to Bolles and your husband's wonderful cousins told me about your adventure. We are getting ready to go to Maui for 4 months and then have the opportunity to go to New Zealand for a year and we have been on the fence about it. So I went to talk to Lynn and Leslie and they shared your blog with me. I am nervous about going away for so long but think the adventure may be worth it. I'm worried about the kids missing school and missing their friends....any words of wisdom?? After reading your blog, I feel inspired to step out of the box and show my kids that doing something different can be exciting. I would love to hear your thoughts and hear how home schooling your children went as I might have to do the same.
    Sincerely,
    Mindy Augustine

    1. Hi Mindy,
What a nice note to get - so glad you have been enjoying the blog (despite our recent negligence in keeping it updated!). Can you send me an email (emilysena@yahoo.com) - would be easier to email than talk here. Although in a one word I can sum up my feelings on a year in New Zealand….GO! I just read this to my husband, whose comment was "wait, whats the question?" :) I look forward to hearing from you!
